Rosemary at the hurdles

"I give You thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart. . ."
 (Psalm 138:1).

With everything that is in me--
    no matter the impossible circumstance,
        or the unattainable bar--

in the face of unimagined difficulty,
    or pain,
        or disappointment--

With everything that is in me--
    when I try and fail,
        when I have given all and it isn't enough--

In gray monotony
    or neon crisis--

With everything that is in me--
    I give You thanks, O Lord,
        for Your steadfast love
        and Your faithfulness.
